About This Blog

When my boyfriend took up the fiddle, he decided to turn Tuesday evenings into "jam sessions" with a few of his friends. I don't really have an instrument to play, but obviously I still wanted to hang out with everyone! I also have been inspired to cook more by my best friend and former roommate, a food writer and recipe guru. So Tuesday has quickly be come my night to cook some new, often elaborate recipe, and serve it to my friends, definitely fishing a bit for complements, and always looking to improve my knowledge of cooking technque, flavour combinations, and international cuisines.

I've always had a bit of a knack in the kitchen, and I definitely have some recipes that are killer. But most of those recipes are sugary foods, not really suitable for dinners. So this blog is my attempt to research, test, and report on new things I try in the kitchen. Focus will be in several areas: healthy foods, vegetarian/sustainable foods, and international dishes. I also really like "fancy" meats, as in meat outside the standard chicken, fish, pork, and cow. Hopefully I will get a chance to try my hand at cooking duck, quail, rabbit, scallops, bison, snails, and venison!
